Dear Parents,

This March, we are taking our 4th and 5th grade students to the Superstart conference, and your child is invited! Superstart! Is a high-energy weekend event in which preteens can learn and grow in their relationships with friends, leaders and most importantly God.
This year’s theme is “Unscripted”. Students will be hearing 3 main messages looking at the life of Jesus AND the experiences of King David (as shown in the Psalms) to discuss the following ideas:

Jesus felt it too – Does God really understand everything I feel? Yes, Jesus has felt every feeling we have and understands our emotions

Tell Him what you’re going through – God wants us to come to Him with everything no matter what situation you find yourself in

Trust Him to Guide you – Don’t rely on yourself in those Unscripted moments, trust God who knows everything and will guide you.
How do I register my child?
You can register and pay online at www.Marlborochristian.com under the events tab beginning on January 31, 2023. When you have registered and paid, you will be sent links to fill out the appropriate waiver forms for both CIY and for Defy Gravity Trampoline park. ALL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED FOR YOUR CHILD TO ATTEND. The Registration Deadline is February 26, 2023.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the trip is $85 which covers transportation, the conference, lodging, and a trip to a trampoline park on Saturday. This trip actually costs close to $120/student, but we are pleased to be able to subsidize a portion of the cost thanks to the generosity of our congregation.
Who will be supervising my child?
Our students will be supervised throughout the event by several of our children’s ministry leaders. These leaders are fully background checked and will do a great job helping us keep your child safe throughout the weekend, while also facilitating small group times.
Where is the conference held?
Superstart! will be held at Lakeside Christian Church in Lakeside Park, KY (Just south of Cincinnati)

We love your interest in helping, please contact Nick Hatch to find out about need and availability of adult spots. Any adults who join us on this trip will need to pass a background check and go through ministrysafe training in order to attend.
What is the itinerary?
Friday, March 17
12:00 – Depart from MCC parking lot
4:30 PM – Arrive in Cincinnati area, check into hotel 5:00 PM – Head to dinner (McDonalds or similar)
6:00 PM – Head to Lakeside Christian Church to check into the conference 7:00 PM-10:00 – Superstart! Friday Night Programming
Saturday, March 18
7:00 AM – Rise and Shine, Breakfast at the hotel 8:15 AM – Depart hotel and head to the church
8:40 AM – 10:15 AM – Morning sessions at Superstart! 10:15 AM – Depart for Defy Gravity Sports Park
10:45 AM – 11:45 AM – Jump time at the park
11:45 AM – 12:45 PM – Lunch at Defy (Pizza), Small groups over morning sessions 12:45 PM – Depart for afternoon sessions at church
1:10 PM-3:00 PM – Afternoon Superstart! sessions.
3:00 PM – Superstart! dismisses, begin travel back to MCC 6:00 PM – Dinner on the road
Approx 9 PM – Arrive back at MCC for parent pick up.
What Does my child need to bring?
Clothes and pajamas Necessary toiletries
Kids may want a drawstring bag with a pen, and a small bible for use throughout the day Money for two meals during travel (Dinner Friday and Dinner Saturday)
Optional – Money for souvenirs from the Superstart! store (the store sells hats, shirts, and other merchandise between $10 and $30)
Any necessary medications (Please communicate with Nick about medicines so we can make appropriate arrangements)
